Okay so day 1 went pretty good until the end. My eating was right on track for the day. I had lots of veggies and fruit, fish for dinner. Near the end of the night, my kids were making butter tarts. Well of course you know what happened then, I had to eat some. Not just one though, I had 4!!! I went for a walk after that with Bailey, my retriever, to work some of it off.
I'm looking forward to watching Biggest Loser tonight. It's on the last couple episodes of the season. I get so much inspiration from these people. Can you imagine being on TV with the whole world watching you try to lose weight. I only wish I could have a chance at that. You really have no choice; all the right food is there for you, all the training, all the exercise programs, emotional support, and people are watching you all the time. How can you not lose weight? To have a support team like that would be awesome... or just someone to coach you on.
I'm on this journey myself for now. My family doesn't understand that I need to do this now for me. I just hope that once they start to see the changes, they will come on board with me. I've tried numerous time to change the way we all eat, but they always end up sneaking stuff, snacking, overeating...I gave up trying. And then fell back into the old ways. Now I will just concentrate on myself and what I need to do. Hopefully they will eventually see the light.

Get a life!
So it's been ages since I was here last. It seems like forever. Not much has happened since then anyways, except I'm gaining weight again and starting to worry a lot about my health. I want to be around to see my children give me some grandchildren, and be able to have fun with them.
I need to reclaim my life, and stop worrying about everyone else. It's time to take care of myself.
As of today, I'm going to start watching everything that I put into my mouth. Not really a diet per se, but watching what I'm eating and how much. I also need to start an exercise program. My exercise nowadays is non-existent. I need to be doing something every day. With my thyroid problems, it's the only way I'm going to lose weight. I want to stop being a couch potato and start living my life. It's about time.
Starting today, I'll try to post here every day and document my journey to take back my life.

Starting again...
Okay so I've been gone a while. Too much going on in life.
I'm starting back on low carb again today. My meals for the day:
B - 3 pc bacon, 1 egg
L - 2 cups tossed salad, 1 tb ranch dressing, 1 chicken drumstick, 3 oz chicken breast
S - 1 cup mixed fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries, honeydew)
D - 5 oz pork chop, zucchini spears, cauliflower with crm cheese and cheddar (yummo)
S - sf jello
Today is my second day having no soda. It's killing me! I usually drink 2-3 coke zeros every day and I'm trying to drink more water. Lets see how long it lasts. BTW, there is still coke zero in the house...I'm trying to make the hubby drink it all.
On another note, I've just posted a link to a new blog I discovered recently written by Jennifer Eloff called Low Carbing and General Health News. Be sure to check it out.
Have a great evening...

My Fur Babies

I thought I'd take a moment to introduce my fur babies:
The first one is Bailey (named for Bailey's Irish Cream). He's 2 1/2 years old. He's all lab, and a big suck.
The second is Tigger. He's 4 years old. He's the boss. The other two are scared of him, even though he's small.
The third one is Bebe. She's my daughter's cat and she's a little fattie cat. I think she's about 1 1/2, she came to live with us when my daughter moved back home.
You should see the three of them play and run around, it's hilarious!

Been sick :(
Hello fellow bloggers. Just a note to let you know that I'm still fighting this sickness. My stomach has been doing funny things to me for almost 2 weeks.
Needless to say, I'm off plan again until I can eat properly. I'll start back at Day 1 again as soon as I'm well enough. This sux!
I probably won't post until I start back on plan, unless something happens that is post-worthy. Blessings to you all!

LC Day 19

I thought I'd share some of my food with you today.
My breakfast was poached eggs with mock hollandaise, and leftover asparagus from last night's dinner. It was so good.

I brought a salad to go with it but everyone knows what salad looks like...lol.
Here's what my dinner will look like. This is the thin and crispy pizza crust (mentioned in an earlier post) with all my toppings on it, fully cooked. I took this last week when I made it.
While my family munches down on their take out pizza, I'll be eating this. I think mine looks better anyways.

LC Days 12-17 and now Day 18
These days kind of got off track. TOM came for a visit on Sunday (enough said...lol). I've had a bit of a stomach virus for the past 4 days and not been really watching what I'm eating. Mostly eating soup and crackers and light foods that will sit well. I'm living on gravol!
No weigh in this week for sure, next Monday is the day!
Today is day 18, which so far has been good.
Day 18 menu:
B - 4 pc bacon, 1 egg
S - kielbasa and cheese slices
L - 1 cup salad, 1 tb dressing, 2 oz chicken breast
D - will be steak, asparagus, and another small salad
I'm hoping I feel well enough to get to the gym tonight. I missed yoga on Monday night, and my body is feeling it. Weird how your body somehow knows. I need to get some exercise happening soon. My plan is to make a plan - an exercise plan that makes sure I get at least 3 days a week of exercise, whether it be at the gym, yoga class or at home. I've been slacking off again and need to get it done.

LC Day 11
I'm so close to onederland, I can taste it...my weight this morning was 200.0! I was so close, must have been the ice cream that did me in...LOL
Day 11 menu:
B - 2 hard boiled eggs
L - tuna sandwich on flax bun, 1 cup salad with 1 tb ranch, chicken breast
D - 6 oz pork chop, 1/2 cup asparagus, 1 cup broccoli slaw
S - fruit ice cream (about 10 strawberries, 1 cup heavy cream)
Took a run to Costco in the evening to check it out. Hubby likes to walk around and see what's new. He didn't end up buying anything. He kept asking me what I was getting, cause if I wasn't getting anything he would. I told him I was there for food only. He's a tool junkie and likes to buy tools, or anything related...not that he ever uses any of them. His excuse is that we may need it one day..lol...just like the bathroom pedestal sink that I bought about 5 years ago that's still sitting downstairs not installed (but he had to have it right away).
Anyhoo...off and running again....

LC Day 9
Well, I just barely made it through...a little treat at the end of the night satisfied the craving. I had the previously posted "fruit ice cream" recipe with some modifications. I took about 10 frozen strawberries, 3 chunks of frozen banana, two tbsp plain yogurt and about 1/4 cup HWC and put it in my Magic Bullet. It made the greatest ice cream.
Day 9 menu:
B - 2 sausage patties, 1 fried egg
L - roast beef sandwich on flax bun, broccoli slaw
D - 12 oz steak, 1 cup asparagus w/garlic butter, 1 cup mushrooms with melted mozzarella on top
S - modified fruit ice cream (above)
I know the bananas are not allowed right now so I limited them. Once the bananas are brown and the kids won't eat them, I cut them up and throw them in a Ziploc and freeze them. That's the best time to use them in smoothies - great flavour in just a couple pieces.

LC Day 8
I did pretty good again yesterday. And I got my exercise - it was yoga night. We only have two classes left of the beginner's class. I'm not sure I'm ready to "graduate" to the regular classes yet. I may take another beginner's class again. The instructor said I would be okay to move on, but I would not feel comfortable. I think I need a little more flexibilty still to be comfortable in a regular class. I've noticed my flexibility increased a little, and I don't seem to be as tight anymore. I really like the yoga for relaxation. Come on, with a husband, three teenagers, a dog and 2 cats - I need relaxation time...LOL.
Day 8 menu:
B - roast beef sandwich on flax bun, with moz cheese
L - 2 cups salad with ranch dressing, 1 chicken drumstick
D - 1 1/2 cups chili with a toasted flax bun and butter
S - sf cherry jello
Onward to Day 9...

Moving on down
Okay so my weigh-in this morning says I'm 5 lbs down - WooHoo!!!
So I went from 207.0 last Tuesday - down to 202.0 today. What motivation to keep going. Many thanks go to my new friends at LCF in the Induction thread for keeping me motivated to do this, as well as my old friends from LCF with whom I email frequently. Without these gals, I wouldn't have been able to make it this week. So many times I've wanted to cheat.
I also wanted to put a photo here, taken when I was 215 lbs. I can't believe I let myself get this big. When I look at this photo, I can't believe it's me. It probably looks pretty close to the weight I am again now. Wait till I lose some weight and post a new one, and then I can compare.
LC Day 5, 6 and 7

LC Day 4
WooHoo! 3 days and 4 lbs gone! I know it's just water weight, but it feels good all the same.
Day 3 menu was:
B - 2 hb eggs
S - cucumber slices dipped in ranch dressing
L - 2 cups salad, 1 tb dressing, more leftover pork
D - 2 sausages with 1 tb dill relish, 1 cup cauliflower w/2 tb cream cheese and 1 oz cheddar
S - 2 cream cheese muffins and 3 coconut bark candies
I find I have more energy today, and that darn headache is finally gone. I love low-carbing!
I'm not looking forward to the weekend again. That's my normal "cheat" time. I'm hoping this weekend will be different. Tonight is pizza night, so I'll come up with a LC version for myself while they eat take-out.

LC Day 3
Well I re-started my low-carb diet on Tuesday. I've been good so far, but I have the famous induction headache happening. I'm hoping it goes away soon. I'm having a hard time with cravings but that too shall pass.
My main problem is going into the kitchen 4-5 times in the evening and opening the fridge for a snack and remembering that I can't. So I'm going to set up some things that I can eat, and have scheduled snacks.
Day 2 menu was -
B - 3 pc bacon, 1 egg
S - 2 deviled eggs
L - 2 cup salad, 1 tb dressing, 3 oz pork loin
S - 2 cheese strings
D - 6 oz pork chop, 1 cup salad, eggplant
S - coconut bark candy (coconut oil, cocoa, stevia)

Busy Busy Busy
Wow - I have been away for quite a while this time around. It's funny how life gets sometimes. I've been trying to find time to do things and not having much luck with it.
As for my dieting, well that's a whole other story. I do good for a week, then I cheat, then I get depressed about it and keep cheating. That's the way it seems to be with me. It's either all or nothing. Needless to say, I have not lost anything since my last posting. Well, I did go down a few pounds, but they're back again. And so goes the seesaw of low carbing.
I'm trying to get back on track again so I can lose for my vacation in April. Yes, not March as previously posted, but April. This gives me an extra month to lose some weight. I'll probably still not be able to wear a bathing suit, but some shorts would be nice.
Wish me luck!
